Relating this the Oedipus Cycle, King Oedipus and his daughter share a strong relationship with each other. Antigone supports Oedipus and helps him through his hardships. Even though Oedipus committed the “unthinkable”, Antigone sticks by his side, growing upon their special relationship.
The song expresses great emotion and sincere sweetness. It describes the love and strong bond between a father and his son, and how life, like a child, is beautiful and precious. To me, the song explains how life doesn’t stop and wait for you – it just keeps going on. You have to make the best of every single day. We all have to cherish what we have, before it’s too late and gone forever. Life is too short to be worrying about the unnecessary things in life. We can’t overlook the small, but great moments we experience; we have to treasure them. We need to live in the moment and appreciate the little things that make us smile, laugh, cry, and reflect on memories of all kinds.
